Reduced transition depth
A relatively shallow wearing course can make it easier to meet adjoining resilient or hard flooring during an interior refurbishment.
The fine-aggregate version uses a pigmented epoxy binder filled with selected marble or granite chips. Its nominal quarter-inch build, approximately 6 mm, suits transitions where a thicker terrazzo would require greater changes to thresholds. Trowelling compacts the mixture before grinding and sealing expose the fine mineral pattern. The system remains a cast resin floor, with no tile backing or factory-laid sheet joints.

Smaller chips produce a detailed visual field that works well in narrow corridors and other spaces viewed at close range.
The ground matrix accepts a compatible finish coat selected for the room's cleaning and appearance requirements.

Use in dry healthcare circulation, pharmaceutical research corridors and public support areas requiring a decorative hard floor. A thin wearing course follows major substrate variations, so local leveling should be completed before laying the terrazzo rather than consuming the finish material to correct deep depressions.
Plan the nominal 6 mm wearing layer with its substrate preparation and sealer, checking transitions before work starts.
Include the pore-filling stage between grinding operations so that the final seal covers a properly closed surface.
Select fine aggregate proportions, matrix shade and sealer sheen from finished samples. Specify divider placement and curved perimeter details as part of the overall floor design.
