The switch uses a mechanical pedal contained in an all-stainless housing. Pressing the treadle operates an electrical contact, and the floor-standing base keeps the unit available where hands are occupied. A cable carries the signal to compatible control equipment. The sealed construction is intended for demanding environments and differs from optical foot sensors by providing a physical actuation surface with clear pedal travel and no sensing-distance setting.
