The HEGA stage adds contaminant-specific adsorption between the protective prefilter and final HEPA.
This three-stage architecture addresses two different contaminant classes in one coordinated housing train. A prefilter protects the downstream components, a HEGA carbon adsorber treats the selected gas load, and a final HEPA removes fine particles. Published containment configurations include three-high by two-wide arrangements with 2, 4 or 6 in prefilters and 11.5, 16 or 18 in primary-filter depths. Each stage must be selected and monitored independently because molecular exhaustion and particle loading do not follow the same signal.
