A finished wall should not be opened for signal wiring.
The battery switch sends requests by radio.
The battery-powered switch senses a hand with infrared electronics and transmits the activation request to a compatible radio receiver. The black wall housing contains the sensor and battery compartment, while the receiver connects separately to the door equipment. This split arrangement is useful when a new cable route would be difficult. The switch remains an activation device; the operator's movement and protective sensing functions are handled by the connected door system.
