Standalone interlocks do not report to building monitoring.
The serial interface provides an integration path to the BMS.
The RS485 system groups doors around microprocessor-based control units and links those units to a supervisory connection. Red-green stations give local access status, while lock and sensor wiring remains associated with the relevant door group. The arrangement offers a practical middle scale between an isolated local interlock and a larger Ethernet PLC installation. Expansion uses compatible units and interfaces, allowing several related cleanroom entrances to share building-level status monitoring.
