This rectangular explosion-relief assembly mounts on process equipment rather than in a personnel doorway. Its stainless housing carries a hinged lid, silicone gasket and integrated baffle. During venting, the air cushion moderates lid movement and assists its return to the closed position. The fixed opening format distinguishes this unit from square relief hatches. Installation must provide a safe discharge path appropriate to the equipment and process; the assembly is not a substitute for explosion isolation between interconnected vessels.
