A centre mullion obstructs equipment passage.
Upper and lower latching allows an appropriate paired-door arrangement without a rim strike on a mullion.
Visible vertical rod covers distinguish this exit device from a rim-latch bar. The horizontal actuator operates latches at the top and bottom of the door through surface-mounted linkages. This arrangement is useful for paired leaves where latching at a centre mullion is undesirable. Both rods and their fittings remain accessible on the face of the door, while the selected full-rod configuration retains a lower latch at the floor strike.
