Short local circulation path
Return and supply connections can serve the same process zone without routing the full recirculation volume through a distant air handler.
The cleanroom recirculation air unit brings the return-air intake, fan and filtration components into a local service cabinet. A cooling section can be added when heat must be removed from the recirculated stream. The illustrated cabinet separates access to the lower return section from the upper supply area, with external pipe connections for a water-coil arrangement. Front discharge and short-plenum supply layouts allow the air circuit to be arranged around an individual room or equipment zone rather than a remote central return path.
Return and supply connections can serve the same process zone without routing the full recirculation volume through a distant air handler.
A water-coil package can address equipment heat while the fan is selected around the required filtered-air volume.
A planned prefilter service route helps keep routine coarse-dust removal separate from final-filter replacement.
Pipe-side connections and the chosen condensate arrangement can be coordinated without using the air outlet as a service opening.
An RCU must balance the room air path, process heat and maintainability rather than treating them as one fan-speed setting.
The following common cabinet references and component choices support initial selection of a compact recirculation system.
| Typical Compact Cabinet Envelope | Approximately 500–800 mm wide × 600–800 mm deep × 1200–1700 mm high; larger cooling and filter sections use a custom enclosure |
|---|---|
| Common Recirculation Selection Band | Approximately 1000–2000 m³/h for compact local systems, depending on the selected filter and airflow layout |
| Housing Material Options | Powder-coated steel or aluminium cabinet; stainless-steel wet-section components as an option |
| Fan Configuration | Variable-speed EC centrifugal fan assembly |
| Common Electrical Supply | 230 V AC, single phase, 50/60 Hz variant |
| Prefiltration | Accessible coarse or fine prefilter ahead of the selected cooling and final-filtration stages |
| Common Final-Filter Options | HEPA H13 or H14; alternative process filtration available |
| Cooling Option | Chilled-water coil with separate water connections and valve-control package |
| Condensate Arrangement | Drain pan and connected drain for wet-coil operation; dry-coil configuration available for appropriate water temperatures |
| Controls and Monitoring Options | Fan-speed control, filter differential-pressure indication and independent temperature/coil-valve regulation |
| Supply Arrangement Options | Front discharge grille or connection to a local supply plenum |
| Customização | Disponível com base na aplicação pretendida e no ambiente operacional. |
Define which coil, water-side parts, sensors and controls are included. A circulating fan/filter cabinet does not include a chilled-water source unless separately selected.
Use the compact cabinet and recirculation references as starting points, then identify the room volume, particle sources, return location and available discharge path. The cabinet shown is a vertical arrangement; ceiling modules and floor cabinets with similar air volumes are not dimensionally interchangeable. Confirm door swing, filter withdrawal space, pipe projections and the route for moving the assembled unit into position.
Describe the process heat load, entering air condition, target room temperature and available water temperatures and flow. Select the coil at those conditions and include fan heat in the balance. An airflow adjustment is not a substitute for temperature regulation; specify whether the valve, sensor, actuator and controller are included. Do not combine one reference unit's cooling capacity with another unit's airflow or power rating.
A coil below the air dew point needs a drain pan, an appropriate trapped drain and insulated water connections. A dry-coil arrangement depends on the actual dew point and water-temperature control, not simply the absence of a drain connection. Reserve access for cleaning the coil face and removing the prefilter without wetting the final filter or electrical parts.
Recirculation does not supply the outdoor air needed for occupants, remove all process gases or replace the room's pressure-control system. Identify any separate make-up and exhaust streams and avoid recirculating hazardous process emissions. This RCU is not a dehumidifier or an ultra-low-dew-point dry-room system by default. If heat removal is unnecessary and the requirement is a ceiling supply point, compare the standard fan filter unit.
